Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 24, 2026
TheTrafficWall ("we," "us") operates a public leaderboard where site owners connect their Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property and get ranked by real traffic. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we do with it.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and Google account ID, from signing in with Google. We never see or store a password.
- Listing information: whatever you submit about your site — name, URL, description, category tags.
- GA4 analytics data: aggregate traffic metrics only — sessions, active users, engaged sessions, engagement rate, bounce rate, average session duration, page views, and traffic-channel breakdown — for GA4 properties where you've granted our service account Viewer access. We never access or store individual visitor-level data; GA4's own reporting doesn't expose that to us in the first place.
- Report submissions: if you use the "Report this listing" feature, we store your note and a one-way hash of your IP address (used only to limit repeat submissions) — never the raw IP address itself.
- Session cookie: a login session cookie to keep you signed in. No third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To operate the public leaderboard, site profile pages, and embeddable badges.
- To verify that a submitted site actually matches the connected GA4 property's real traffic (comparing the property's serving domain against your submitted URL), to keep listings honest.
- To review listings flagged as suspicious, by you or by other visitors.
- To contact you about your account or a connection that needs attention.
What's shown publicly
Aggregate traffic figures (sessions, growth %, engagement rate) and a plain-language quality label are shown publicly on leaderboards, profile pages, and badges for connected sites. We never display anything more granular than that.
Who we share data with
Google (for sign-in and GA4 data), Neon (database hosting), and Vercel (application hosting) process data on our behalf as infrastructure providers — none of them use it independently. We don't sell data or share it with advertisers.
Your controls
You can remove our service account's Viewer access from your GA4 property at any time from Google's own GA4 Admin panel — this stops syncing and, after a short grace period, removes your listing from public leaderboards. To request that your account or listing be fully deleted, email us (below) — a self-serve delete button isn't built yet, so this is currently handled manually.
